Terms & Refund Policy

1. Booking and payment

Bookings are made through this website, by direct message, or via our voice / chat assistant. A booking is held as pending for 48 hours from the moment it is created. The booking is only confirmed once the full nightly rate (R3 900 per night, multiplied by the number of nights) is received in full via Paystack.

If payment is not received within 48 hours, the pending hold is released automatically and the dates are reopened to other guests.

Payment is processed by Paystack. We do not see or store your card details. Prices are quoted in South African Rand (ZAR) and include VAT where applicable.

2. Cancellation and refund policy

Guests may cancel free of charge up to 3 days before check-in. If you cancel between 3 days and 1 day before check-in, you are still refunded in full. Refunds are calculated against the total amount paid:

How to cancel: email [email protected] or WhatsApp 082 899 6118 with your booking reference (the BB-… code from your confirmation email). The cancellation date is the date we receive your written request.

Date changes: instead of cancelling, you may ask to change your dates, provided the request is made before arrival and subject to availability.

Refunds are processed within 10 business days, to the same card used for payment, via Paystack.

Force majeure: if the booking cannot proceed because of events outside either party's control (declared national disaster, government-imposed travel restrictions, fire, flood, prolonged loss of access to the farm), guests will be offered a date change at no cost, or a full refund minus the 5% Paystack processing fee. Personal circumstances (illness, work, change of plans, missed flights) fall under the standard schedule above. We strongly recommend travel insurance.

3. Check-in and check-out

• Check-in: from 14:00. Late arrivals must be arranged in advance. The farm gate closes at sunset.
• Check-out: 10:00. Late check-out is by arrangement and may incur a half-day charge.
• A valid government-issued ID is required at check-in for the lead guest.
• Plaasrus sleeps a maximum of 4 guests. Exceeding this is not permitted.

4. House rules

• No smoking inside the farmhouse. Smoking is permitted on the stoep, using the provided ashtray.
• Pets: allowed. Braambos is a working farm with livestock, free-range hens, and farm dogs, so please keep your pets under control.
• Events / parties: not permitted. Guests are welcome to have visitors.
• Children are welcome but must be supervised at all times. The property has a farm dam, livestock paddocks, and an off-grid electrical setup.
• Livestock and farm areas: guests must not enter paddocks, animal enclosures, or working farm areas without an invitation from the owners.
• Off-grid living: Plaasrus runs on solar. Please be mindful of electricity use during overcast weather. Water is borehole-fed, drinkable but use sparingly.
• Farm dam: swimming is at your own risk. Please take care of the snapping turtles in the dam.
• Damages: any breakage, loss, or damage beyond fair wear and tear will be invoiced to the lead guest after departure.

5. Liability and farm safety

Guests enter the farm at their own risk. Braambos Farm, its owners, and its staff accept no liability for personal injury, illness, loss, or damage to personal property arising during the stay, except where caused by gross negligence on our part.

By booking, you confirm that all members of your party understand this is a working farm environment. Uneven ground, livestock, water features, fire pits, and rural wildlife are part of the experience.

6. Privacy and data

We collect only the data required to process your booking: name, email, phone number, dates, and number of guests. Payment data is handled directly by Paystack and never reaches our servers.

We do not sell or share your data with third parties. Booking records are retained for five years for accounting and tax purposes, in line with SARS requirements, and in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA, 2013). You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data at any time by emailing [email protected].

7. Disputes and complaints

We aim to resolve every concern directly and quickly. Please raise issues with us during your stay or within 7 days of departure. Unresolved disputes are subject to the laws of the Republic of South Africa, with jurisdiction in the Western Cape.
